Society of Home Economics & Skills (SHES)

Department of Humanities & Social Sciences

Society of Home Economics and Skills (SHES) was formulated in 2017 by the Department of Humanities & Social Sciences, GIFT University. The purpose of this society is to provide the students a platform, to lead and learn how to be a great team player, by giving them opportunities to arrange different curricular and extra-curricular activities, which makes them good leaders, globally competitive, morally upright, and well-rounded disciplined individuals. This is also the perfect opportunity to discover new hobbies or interests that students didn’t realize they ever had! The specialty of this society is that it is an All-Girls society so that any girl can participate and perform activities.

Meeting people through societies is not just about making friends either; it is also a great way to network beyond the course, improving the employability and ability to integrate. Without question, they will learn “soft skills” or “people skills” through joining a society and interacting with people in more than just a social context.

Societies work the other way too so much that the skills they learn from their time in the society can aid them in the classroom too. They can become more effective in group projects, more critical of theory application, all of which will benefit them in the long run.

Until now, a number of activities have been performed by the student using this platform. Students have arranged different competitions, educational seminars, furniture displays, and so many other events. It is a platform for the students to display their work. They basically convert their theoretical knowledge into practical knowledge.
