Biography

Dr. Humaira Yaqub is currently working as a Lecturer in the English department at GIFT University, Gujranwala. She has experience of teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels over a period exceeding 10 years. She has supervised research dissertations of BS English in the areas of Semantics, Pragmatics and Systemic Functional Linguistics and currently BS English students are working with her in the areas of Code Switching, Morphology and Syntax. 

Prior to joining GIFT, she has been a visiting PhD researcher at City University of Hong Kong where she completed her PhD research dissertation under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Jonathan James Webster. She joined ‘The Hallidian Centre for Intelligent Application of Language Studies’ at City University of Hong Kong and learned the application of UAM Corpus Tool in the area of Systemic Functional Linguistics.

Dr. Humaira Yaqub has successfully published her research articles in HEC recognized journals of Y category. She has attended a number of national level research conferences where she has presented her research work and got exposure of dynamic research dimensions.
