GIFT University and GINUM Cancer Hospital Deepen Collaborative Efforts in Research and Patient Care

On May 16, 2025, Prof. Dr. Um e Laila, serving in her honorary capacity as a member of the Research Ethics Board, visited GINUM Cancer Hospital. This visit further strengthened the ongoing academic and research collaboration between GIFT University’s Department of Psychology and GINUM.

During the visit, Dr. Asma Sohail, Director of GINUM, formally acknowledged and appreciated the contributions of GIFT University’s Department of Psychology, particularly highlighting the two-year collaborative efforts that have positively impacted patient care. She expressed high regard for the intervention-based research conducted by M.Phil Psychology students, which has provided meaningful psychological support to cancer patients through applied, community-driven research.

Dr. Asma emphasized the importance of continuing this impactful partnership, stating that the integration of academic insight into real-world clinical settings has been invaluable for both patient outcomes and community engagement. She encouraged the department to sustain and expand its role in research and outreach efforts at the hospital.
