Prof. Dr. Ume-Laila Attended Global Mental Health Events in Iloilo City, Philippines

Prof. Dr. Ume-Lela attended the 4th Global Mental Health Advocacy Forum and the Being Learning and Support Network Regional Gathering, held in Iloilo City, Philippines, in February 2026.

The 4th Global Mental Health Advocacy Forum, organized by United for Global Mental Health in collaboration with Mental Health PH, brought together global mental health advocates, policymakers, researchers, and practitioners from around the world to strengthen collaboration and advocacy in the field of mental health.

Following the forum, Prof. Dr. Ume-Lela participated in the Being Learning and Support Network Regional Gathering on 5th and 6th February 2026 at the ICON Conference Centre, Iloilo City, Philippines. The gathering convened youth mental health professionals from South Asia, Southeast Asia, and Latin America.

During the Regional Gathering, Prof. Dr. Ume-Lela presented an indigenized “Partner in Parenting” intervention, which received high appreciation from international participants and experts. Her presentation effectively emphasized Pakistan’s community-based mental health initiatives, highlighting culturally responsive approaches to reducing adolescent depression and anxiety.

This representation further strengthened Pakistan’s presence on global mental health platforms and emphasized the country’s role in advancing innovative, community-driven solutions for building resilient nations.
